Previously, former 'Cosby Show' actor Geoffrey Owens was photographed working at Trader Joe's, which ended up going viral and resulting in him quitting. From there, Tyler Perry made an offer to Owens via a tweet and also pointed out that he respects his hustle.

Now, sources noted that Owens accepted Tyler Perry’s offer, and will appear on his show ‘The Have and the Have Nots.’ Owens is set to have a recurring role that will last for 10 episodes.

Actor Geoffrey Owens has seen himself thrown back into the public eye after being shamed for working at Trader Joe's. Owens recently had a sit down with Robin Roberts about the situation revealing that he has quit his job at Trader Joe's because of the media circus.

But he could potentially be back in front of the camera if it's up to Tyler Perry. The film mogul tweeted out “#GeoffreyOwens I’m about to start shootings OWN’s number one drama next week! Come join us!!!” adding, “I have so much respect for people who hustle between gigs, The measure of a true artist.”

Owens reacted to the gesture saying, “That was kind of cool,” but added that he's not going to get his hopes up entirely. He told Entertainment Tonight, “I mean, that kind of sounded like he was saying, ‘Come work with me.’ I’m so, like, skeptical. Like, really? Are you actually saying come work with me? Because we’ve never worked together before. So, that’s a very, very generous thing for him to say. And we’ll see what happens with that. But, that’s encouraging.”

The actor noted earlier in his conversation with Roberts that there has been much interest in him after his story hit the news cycle but said “I wouldn’t mind getting auditions … but I wouldn’t feel comfortable with someone giving me a job because this happened, [...] I want to get a job because I’m the right person for that job.”
