While Dallas’s own Asian Doll was left off the cover of XXL’s 2018 Freshman cover, it did not seem to stop her continuous momentum. Gucci Mane’s imprint, 1017 Eskimo Records, announced on Wednesday (June 13) that she has now inked a deal with the label, becoming the East Atlanta rapper’s first female artist signed to him.

Guwop broke the news on his Instagram account in a photo with the caption reading, "Welcome @asiandadoll to #1017EskimoRecords. Congrats Y’all get ready because we bout to go crazzyyyy!"

Asian Doll brought that same energy when she announced the news on her page as she wrote in her caption, "IM THE 1st EVER FEMALE ARTIST TO SIGN WITH @gucci1017 I’m Officially 1017," she tweeted.

In a recent interview with XXL, the “Arm Froze” rapper stated her goals and intentions with her music. "Keep leading the youth. I feel like girls—especially from the hood, where I'm from—they have no voice. They have nobody," she said. "Sometimes when you get super famous, you forget what you started doing this s*** for. I just wanna keep motivating the girls [to] keep being themselves. Especially for dark skin girls."

Asian Doll is the latest signee to Gucci’s 1017 Eskimo Records after inking Lil Wop, Hoodrich Pablo Juan, and ZMoney.
