Gary Michael Houston, Whitney Houston's nephew, defended Kanye West for choosing a photo of Whitney's bathroom covered in drugs for Pusha T's new album, DAYTONA. That statement was in direct opposition to Whitney Houston's cousin, Damon Elliott, who was disgusted with that artistic choice.

Gary, 31, is a fan of Pusha T's album, and he told People that "if fans want to be mad at anybody, they should direct their outrage to 'the person who violated the trust of my aunt by taking the photo and selling it to the tabloids' in the first place."

On the other hand, Damon Elliott stated, "To do something for a publicity stunt to sell records, it's absolutely disgusting. It hurt my family and my daughter. It's petty. It's tacky."

A family member secretly took the photo in 2006 and subsequently sold it to Kanye West for $85K to be featured on Pusha T's new album cover. It has been known to the public that Whitney Houston had struggled with drug addiction before her death in February 2012 at The Beverly Hilton hotel.

According to People Magazine, West paid to license the photograph, but it is not clear if he paid the Enquirer or Houston’s former sister-in-law Tina Brown, sister of the singer's ex-husband, Bobby Brown.
