As the #MeToo movement continues to gain momentum after the guilty verdict of the disgraced comedian Bill Cosby, the news sent massive shockwaves throughout the country. And even the likes of R. Kelly as the news has reportedly “sent him over the edge”
A close associate to R. Kelly, real name Robert Kelly, revealed to Metro that the legendary singer is allegedly “behaving obsessively while searching his name all over the internet to see what people are saying about him.”
The unnamed sources tell Metro that the 51-year-old has been driven mad as they stated, ”This is the worst anybody has ever seen him and Bill’s guilty sentencing has really sent him over the edge.”
The associate added: "He is concerned that the non-disclosure agreements he had some of his alleged victims sign won’t be enough to stop them from speaking and has been obsessively searching his name on the internet to see if any new allegations about him are circulating."
While R. Kelly has that denied multiple allegations of rape, sexual assault, having an alleged “sex cult” and allegedly passing a victim an STI, many of his close celebrity friends as well as his lawyer, publicist, and assistant have all abandoned him.
The Metro also reports that the singer, according to the source, is “struggling to cope” They claim, “Kelly has been in a bad way since all of his team quit but has been even more manic, frantic and out of control ever since he learned that Bill Cosby was found guilty of rape.
Kelly was also described as being “paranoid” as he reportedly went as far as calling many of his friends and associates in the music industry to say positive things in the media about him.
‘He’s been calling his celebrity friends to help him but they’re not answering his calls and those still around him say he’s become deeply paranoid that more stories about him will emerge,’ the associate tells Metro.
They added: ‘Without solid legal presentation or a publicist he doesn’t know how to handle criticism from the media and is telling everyone around him that he fears his label will drop him.’
In response, his representatives have stated that R. Kelly "categorically denies all claims and allegations."
"Mr. Robert Kelly is both alarmed and disturbed at the recent revelations attributed to him,” the reps claim. "Mr. Kelly unequivocally denies such allegations and will work diligently and forcibly to pursue his accusers and clear his name."
