With the release of Marvel's Black Panther receiving rave reviews and creating a firestorm amongst the public, many Black celebrities have contributed to making sure as many kids get to see the movie as possible.

Harlem native Fred Joseph started the Black Panther challenge on GoFundMe as a way to help locals students. His charitable effort soon raised over $400K, having thousands of kids to see the movie. Lil Yachty and Offset decided to surprise some kids in Los Angeles who were at the theaters to see the film on Saturday (February 17).

The Atlanta rappers who were in LA for the NBA's All-Star weekend decided to pop up at Hollywood's El Capitan Theatre. The film was scheduled to be shown for 500 foster and at-risk children and was fully funded by writer Jas Waters of This is Us. Offset and Yachty not only surprised the youth that was there but also bought out the rest of the theatre.

When they entered the theater to the surprise of the moviegoers, Lil Yachty said, “We just wanted to watch this movie with y’all." Offset added, “And have a good time.”

Yachty and Offset joined a few of their peers in buying out theaters for children to see the movie including Kendrick Lamar, Serena Williams, and Travis Scott.
