After pleading guilty to tax evasion, a judge will allow Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino to head south this winter.

TMZ reports the original "Jersey Shore" cast member entered a guilty plea during his appearance in a Newark, New Jersey court on Friday. Allegedly, Mike didn't pay Uncle Sam all the taxes on the $8.9 million he raked in between 2010 and 2012. According to prosecutors, he even went as far as filing fake returns to make it look like he was square with the government.

During that same hearing, a judge said it was ok for Sorrentino to go to Florida so he can shoot a reboot of the MTV show that made him famous in the first place. The rest of the cast has already begun filming.

The Situation isn't completely out of his situation just yet. He still faces a $250,000 fine and up to 5 years behind bars. His sentencing is on April 25th. Mike's older brother Marc, who also doubled as his manager, is also caught up in this mess. He too had criminal charges and chose to plead guilty.

Lawyers for the 35-year-old reality star released a statement asking for leniency saying in part, "The plea terms call for a balance between punishing the wrong committed and conditions that facilitate Mike living a productive, law-abiding life moving forward. Following through on this plea agreement, Michael intends to pay restitution before sentencing."
