Charles Barkley was his raw and unapologetic self in the way he dropped mention of the Republican tax bill during Inside the NBA on Thursday, December 21. As Shaq, Ernie, Kenny rambled about Christmas, Barkley suddenly began to gloat about getting to receive two Christmas gifts, including one from the President.

Barkley pivoted the conversation to explain some of the perks that will come with being among those he sees benefiting. “Shaq, they said it’s going trickle down … I’m going to trickle my fat butt down to the jewelry store to get a new Rolex," he said. As he continued, he poked and prodded poor people for the deal they're getting under the tax plan.

"They’re not going to pass it to nobody. Thank you Republicans, I knew I could always count on y’all to take care of us rich people, us one percenters," said Barkley. "Sorry, poor people. I’m hoping for y’all, but y’all ain’t got no chance.”

Barkley has been on a roll so far as towing the ledge on the air goes, in the past week or so. Since his public backing of Doug Jones to defeat Roy Moore in Alabama, many may have expected that Barkley would pick up a platform with a more political tone. But he was shedding those expectations by remaining politically incorrect when last week he announced that he was donating a million dollars to Black women getting into tech - but emphasized that women with ambitions for restaurants or hair shops need not apply.
