Before Black Thought became the nucleus of the recurring hip-hop debate on lyricism with his Funk Flex freestyle, in April of this year, Lord Jamar vouched for the Philly emcee's illustrious pen. DJ Vlad, on the other hand, doesn't agree that Though is up there when it comes to top emcees.
The Brand Nubian rapper explained that Black Thought isn't the type of rapper who should be compared to the likes of Jay-Z, Biggie, or prominent commercial artists. He added that Black Thought is a pure hip-hop artist that is one of the top lyricists in the game when you look solely at his skills.
