Just days after his request for bail was denied, Meek Mill appears to be seeking an appeal on his prison sentence for parole violation.

According to TMZ, Meek’s lawyers are in the process of appealing his 2-4 year prison stint, citing that Judge Genece Brinkley has mistreated the Philly rapper. Meek’s lawyer has ordered for the transcripts of court proceedings to show the appeals court that Judge Brinkley’s decisions have been biased.

According to reports, Judge Brinkley, who placed Meek in jail and denied his bail, has been criticized by Meek’s lawyer, Joe Tacopina, for a continued ‘pattern of unfair treatment.’ In court documents, Brinkley called Meek a ‘flight risk’ and ‘a danger the community” when giving her ruling as to why she denied him bail. Brinkley also accused Meek of cheating on his drug tests through the use a masking agent to clean his system.

While Meek is reportedly keeping busy in prison working multiple jobs for a humbling 19 cents per hour, the case has gained the support of many individuals who feel the rapper has been targeted by the justice system.

After meeting with Meek, Rev Al Sharpton said the rapper wants his case to highlight how the system deals with people from the streets. “He wanted me to express was that it was bigger than him. That people get probation violations for the most infinitesimal reasons; for the most minor infraction."
