Benzino offered his opinion on the Lord Jamar and Royce Da 5'9 exchange that centered on Eminem's now (in)famous BET cypher. During an exclusive interview with VladTV, Lord Jamar stated that he commended Eminem on using his platform to speak truth to power but he also pointed out how he felt the optics of Eminem's cypher possibly undermined the words he rapped. Mainly the idea that a black man standing behind the white man still implies a difference in status. Royce responded to Lord Jamar's comments basically dismissing them and stating how much love and respect he and Em have for one another.

Benzino decided to chime in on the matter and talked about what points he agreed with from Lord Jamar and Royce respectively. He pointed out how he agreed with Lord Jamar about Em using his platform yet undermining his message with the placement of Black people in the background. On the flip side, he agreed with Royce that the relationship he and Em have established is solid enough to supersede things like Lord Jamar is stating. But Benzino took issue with Royce claiming that there's protocol that has to be followed and said that protocol shouldn't always be a white man in the leadership position.

Benzino stated that this is a good conversation starter and that topics like this should be discussed more often.
