Longtime Eminem affiliate and friend Royce Da 5’9 blasted critics who spoke negatively about Eminem's recent anti-Trump BET Hip-Hop Awards freestyle.
Recently, Lord Jamar appeared on VladTV and shared his thoughts on Em's cypher. Royce Da 5’9 didn't address Jamar directly, but Jamar alleged that the imagery of black men standing in the back of a white man [reffering to the cypher] was intended to portray white superiority.
“Why do y’all care who was in the background of the f**king cipher?,” said Royce in an Instagram post. “Why do y’all care that it was black people in the background of the cipher. The Detroit rapper went on to explain his relationship with Eminem. “What do you think n***as man? We was casted? You think it’s some type of imaging that got put together by like some f**king white force,” Royce continued.
“Eminem is my f**king friend man. He’s been my friend since 1997. I support everything that he does. Just like he supports everything that I do. And I hope you n***as support your friends and your friends support you and if they don’t that’s your f**king problem.”
Royce applauded Eminem’s decision to speak on race issues and Donald Trump during the appearance. He also explained that him standing in the background with other Shady artists like Conway was part of “protocol” and challenged critics of the cipher to listen to his latest album if they really care about his opinions on matters of police brutality and Trump.
