Last week Bill Cosby was officially thrust into a fight for his future that began when 18 months ago he was charged with sexual assault that allegedly took place in 2004. The legendary actor/comedian's trial kicked off the week, with Cosby being escorted to court by former child star Keshia Knight Pulliam (Rudy). And for those who continue to watch re-runs of The Cosby Show on TV One, the week ended with Cosby and Rudy again, only this time she was the one on the receiving end of a doctored drink.
TV One aired the episode titled "Rudy's Sick" on Friday, June 9. Some were taken aback by the show's timing considering it coincided with Cosby's trial on the drugging and molestation of a former Temple University employee. In it, there is a scene during which television's once role model father crushes pills and mixes them into Rudy's drink.
While the dramatization in no way implicates Cosby concocting the remedy for reasons other than to make young Rudy feel better, too many who watched, the imagery didn't appear to be coincidental.
