San Francisco 49ers quarterback, Colin Kaepernick, and his protest of the American national anthem during NFL games has sparked much debate, and divided many fans down the middle. Many athletes have weighed in since Kaepernick's initial move, and Steph Curry is the latest to give his opinion.
Via a CNBC interview, Curry applauded Kaepernick and his efforts by saying "I love that there's freedom of speech and he can stand for what he believes in. There's gonna be people that disagree and agree with him. I applaud him for taking a stand, and hopefully the conversation is about what his message was and not the fact of whether he'll stand for the national anthem. I will also add the fact that he's putting his money where his mouth is and donating a million dollars to make his message a reality." Curry is the latest amongst professional athletes to show support for Kaepernick, joining the ranks of Tommie Smith and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
