Battle rap veteran Tsu Surf stopped by the VladTV offices recently to chop it up about the current state of hip-hop and the artist everyone loves to hate, Billboard winner Iggy Azalea. "For somebody to win [Top Rap Artist & Song] and for them to not be predominant in that culture, it's nuts."
"You don't hear Iggy on the radio all day, every day - not here. Not in New York," Surf expressed to us. "She don't have hip-hop in a headlock to the point where we could clearly see it." The Newark-bred emcee feels artists like J. Cole, Drake and Hov are rappers "you feel" when they drop a new track, as opposed to Iggy's supposedly lackluster material. "When hip-hop drops, you feel something...How can you win something like that but you don't affect that culture like that? It's blasphemy."
In this clip Tsu Surf also touches on his Vodka preference, as well as his interest in the upcoming 40 Glocc vs. Jack Thriller boxing match. "I'm very interested in seeing 40 Glocc throw a punch," he states, adding that "Jack Thriller ain't no slouch" but there's one drawback that could keep him from taking home the belt. Find out what the "missing" problem is above.
