Rap superstar Young Jeezy was set to put on a performance for a Toronto audience last night, but was prevented from doing so when shots were fired at the Sound Academy, where he was set to hit the stage. While investigators are still gathering details, it has been confirmed that at least one person was wounded.

"Toronto Police are investigating a shooting early Thursday at a concert by American rapper Young Jeezy. Shots rang out at the Sound Academy around 12:30 a.m. sending hundreds of people fleeing from the 11 Polson St. nightclub. The male victim went to St. Michael's Hospital with multiple gunshot wounds and was in serious condition. There was no word on suspects."- Jam! Showbiz

Jeezy himself took to Twitter shortly after the incident.

"Backstage @ Sound Academy in Toronto! Police closed venue and cancelled the greatest show!!! I will be back! Next stop London, Ontario!"

"Can't Ban the snowman. I be back Toronto! #ItsThaWorld".

Violence at concerts is all too common.
