Def Jam Rapstar is a rapping video game which is more along the lines of karaoke than anything else. It was produced by 4mm Games and developed by Terminal Reality with a release occurring back in 2010, but has been the subject of an on-going lawsuit.

4mm Games and Terminal Reality have had a lawsuit filed against them by EMI publishing house. The suit alleges that the creators and developers of the video game did not have proper legal rights to use some of the songs that are featured in it.

EMI also made aware its rights to royalties which were ultimately ignored. The publishing house provided a list of songs in the suit in which they claim percentage ownership. The tracks include DJ Khaled's "I'm So Hood", MIMS' "This Is Why I'm Hot", and Lil Wayne's "Got Money".

All in all, there is a list of 54 tracks which EMI states were infringed upon and are seeking $150,000 in statutory damages for each track.

Major features in the game are now inaccessible because of this situation.
