The Saints' QB has done pretty well for himself the last few years. After winning a Super Bowl the team has had consistent winning seasons despite losses after playoff berths, but the accolades keep coming.

Drew Brees' record-setting year has earned the New Orleans quarterback the 2011 Associated Press NFL Offensive Player of the Year award. And quite simply, here's why:

Passed for 5,476 yards, shattering Dan Marino's 27 year old record.

Passed for 468 completions besting Peyton Manning's 2010 record of 450.

He completed 71.6% of his passes, breaking his own 2009 record of 70.6%

He also successfully threw for 300 yards for seven straight games, 13 times during the season.

Oh yeah, he held those records as well.

Congratulations Mr. Drew Brees; you deserve it.
