State Assemblyman William Boyland Jr. was just acquitted on federal corruption charges, but was arrested again on charges of briber and extortion. Boyland is being accused of soliciting more than $250,000 in payoffs in exchange for helping an amusement park businessman. The businessman was actually an FBI informant, who recorded all the meetings.

Boyland is also under fire for soliciting a $250,000 payoff in exchange for a scheme to help two undercover operatives try to buy and renovate a Brooklyn hospital for $8 million and then resell it for $15 million. The charges in this case claim that he was soliciting this money when he was previously on trial.

Boyland was released on $100,00 bail, and left work without comment.
