Missy Elliott Remembers Abusive Childhood on "Behind The Music"

In the Docu-series "Behind The Music", Missy Elliott speaks on the abuse she witnessed as a child. She grew up with an abusive father who constantly beat her mother. She recalls one incident in which her father pulled a gun on her mother, threatening to kill her.

"He pulled the gun out in front of me. I was screaming, 'Daddy, please don't kill my mother! Please don't kill my mother. I will never forget it. It was the most scariest time in my life."

Her mother Pat adds that "Missy saw that the fight was just beyond measures. My husband said this is it. I am going to kill you. It's over. I was so tired of being beaten over and over. I said, 'Fine, just do it,'"  "And by that time, my brother came in and they were wrestling with the gun, and my brother got the gun away from him."

Behind The Music airs June 29th at 10 p.m. on VH1.
