Part 5: Rene "Boxer" Enriquez on Stabbing Inmate for Mexican Mafia
Part 1: Former Mexican Mafia Rene "Boxer" Enriquez on Joining Gang at 12, 1st Drive-By at 14
--------
In this VladTV interview, Rene “Boxer” Enriquez recounts his years inside California prisons while carrying out orders tied to the Mexican Mafia. Enriquez explains why failed prison attacks were still judged by intent, describing a “PC move” and how inmates were punished if they appeared to avoid doing the job. He details a second attempted hit on Ronald Hayward, connected to a conflict involving Darrell Baca from Artesia and Bogle motorcycle associates, before being transferred from Tracy to Folsom State Prison.
Enriquez also recalls sharing a cell with Mexican Mafia member Sammy Balboa, later killed in Long Beach in 2019, and being drawn into a prison race war involving Black inmates, Crips/Piru factions, and Aryan Brotherhood prisoners. Despite three separate attacks ordered or approved within that world, all three targets survived, shaping Enriquez’s path deeper into the system’s SHU politics.
