Part 8: Death Row Inmate William Noguera on Difference Between Serial Killers & Mass Murderers
Part 1: William Noguera on Killing His Abusive Girlfriend's Mother at Age 18
--------
William Noguera sits down with Vlad to detail how prison politics changed after he protected convicted serial killer Joseph Naso, leading to a Mexican Mafia “green light” while he was still navigating life on death row. Noguera describes sensing danger on the yard, refusing to walk into what he believed was a setup, and the tense exchange that followed before he was sent to the hole and later transferred to Corcoran State Prison.
The interview also covers his decades at San Quentin, three execution dates, the choice between gas and lethal injection, and witnessing Stanley “Tookie” Williams being taken to the execution chamber after his Nobel Peace Prize nomination. Noguera explains that his 2023 sentence reduction came through special circumstances—not books or TV—and discusses being unanimously granted parole in 2025 after 40 years on death row.
