Part 10: Dale Comstock: I Prefer Shooting From Far Away Because The Kills Are Less Personal
Part 1: Delta Force's Dale Comstock: I Hypnotized Myself at 15 Years Old to Be Better, and It Works

--------

Dale Comstock sits down with Vlad to address a direct question: after military combat involving rifles, mortars, and long-distance engagements, has he ever killed someone in hand-to-hand combat? Comstock says no, explaining that true hand-to-hand lethal encounters are rare, even among seasoned operators. He shares a cautionary story about a friend working abroad with a group of SEALs who became separated and ended up grappling with a Taliban fighter after his rifle sling failed. The encounter ended only after the operator managed to access a knife he had never properly trained with.

Comstock connects the story to hard-earned lessons on weapons, preparation, ego, and survival. Despite more than 200 street fights, a professional MMA background, and a sixth-degree black belt, he emphasizes the difference between fighting, controlling someone, and killing hand-to-hand.
