Ramon “Mundo” Mendoza sits down with Vlad to recount a violent 1969 turning point in Los Angeles gang history. At 19, Mendoza says he went to a White Fence teen center looking for family friend David Munguia, only to be recognized, jumped, and beaten with boards and bottles. After returning to his neighborhood near the Santa Ana Freeway, he says he came back armed with a machete and killed Robert “Bobby Loco” Lopez, marking his first homicide.
