Initially charged with first-degree murder in New Jersey, Fredericks spent three years in county jail as prosecutors investigated both the homicide and allegations against Pegg. He explains why he rejected “queen for the day” talks, how psychiatric reports shaped a passion-provocation argument, and why he accepted a plea to second-degree manslaughter, receiving a five-year sentence with time served.
