In a new VladTV interview, Afroman joked that he has earned a unique place in rap history: the “hardest gangster rapper in the world” because, as he put it, he is the only rapper whose lyrics made police cry. Comparing himself to Ice Cube’s “F--- tha Police,” Afroman argued there is no known footage of officers crying over that song, while he claims video exists of police reacting emotionally to his own music.
The rapper said he plans to lean into the moment with a “Muhammad Ali type campaign,” calling himself the greatest rapper of all time. He also revealed plans to open a coffee shop and souvenir store across from a police station, selling lemon pound cake and merchandise tied to the controversy.
Elsewhere in the conversation, Afroman discussed divorce, future music and film projects, his Napster-era rise, and his goal of spreading joy through humor and music.
