Part 2: Nicholas Irving on America Needing a Break from Combat: We Always Fund Them After the War
Part 1: Nicholas Irving Says Potential Ceasefire Is a Desperate but Necessary Victory for the U.S.

--------

In a candid interview, former U.S. Army Ranger Nicholas Irving expressed skepticism about America’s ongoing involvement in global conflicts, referring to the nation as the “world police.” Irving criticized the lack of clear objectives and exit strategies in wars like those in Iraq and Afghanistan, noting that while the U.S. is tactically strong, its long-term success is undermined by resilient adversaries and unclear goals.

Discussing the recent Iran nuclear deal negotiations, Irving doubted their durability, suggesting that future administrations may abandon any agreements made. He also questioned the necessity of America’s interference, arguing that countries closer to regional conflicts should handle their own security issues.

Irving called America’s interventionist policies a “weird complex,” challenging the notion of moral superiority and urging the nation to reconsider its role in policing the world, advocating instead for focusing on domestic priorities and allowing other nations to manage their own affairs.
