Part 6: El Primo Gets Emotional: Black Street Guys Can't Separate Business from Loyalty
Part 1: El Primo on Working for Infamous Chambers Brothers Drug Gang During Detroit Crack Era

--------

In a recent interview, notorious Detroit drug trafficker El Primo revealed striking details about his direct dealings with Joaquín "El Chapo" Guzmán’s cartel. At the peak of their arrangement, El Primo was receiving between one to one and a half tons of cocaine each month exclusively for the Detroit market. Contrary to initial promises of marijuana, all shipments were cocaine, delivered sporadically in loads of roughly 250 to 300 kilograms.

El Primo also shed light on the operational risks during the cartel’s drug war and described evading law enforcement despite large shipments. He suspected internal betrayal, noting a cartel associate cooperated with U.S. authorities, which eventually led to his DEA bust. The lengthy investigation and indictment, spanning over six years, involved numerous Mexican nationals, inaccurately portraying El Primo as the leader of several cartel factions.

The interview uncovers the scale and complexity of cartel logistics and the blurred lines between criminal networks and law enforcement in the ongoing war on drugs.
