Part 1: Crip Mac on His Mom Catching Boyfriend Having Sex With Man, Diagnosed with Mental Illness

--------

In a revealing interview, Crip Mac opens up about his turbulent early days in Los Angeles gang life. After moving to L.A., he joined the Rolling 60s Crips but quickly found trouble. “I loved it at first,” he admits, recalling his initiation into the gang. However, things took a turn when he snatched an old lady’s purse—unbeknownst to him, the grandmother of a respected gang member. This disrespect led to his expulsion from the Rolling 60s.

Following this fallout, Crip Mac transitioned to the 55th Street Crips, aka General Baby West’s neighborhood, where he found a new sense of belonging despite ongoing rivalry and violence with other groups. Reflecting on that time, he speaks candidly about the harsh realities of gang loyalty, street codes, and survival. His story sheds light on the complex dynamics of gang culture in South L.A. during the early 2010s and the personal mistakes that can change one’s path.
