In a candid interview, rapper Jap5 revealed that his first arrest came at just 11 years old after stabbing multiple kids at school with a screwdriver. The violent incident stemmed from ongoing conflicts and bullying, with Jap5 explaining that after being jumped and called derogatory names, he came prepared the next day, wielding a screwdriver he kept under his minibike seat. Although five kids were targeted, Jap5 noted he didn’t break the skin, causing only scratches and welts. He spent six months in a juvenile camp program following the incident. Jap5 described his time in juvenile hall as eye-opening, where he was introduced to neighborhood and gang rivalries he hadn’t encountered before. Despite frequent fights and disrespectful behavior, the young inmates mostly engaged in spitting and fistfights rather than severe violence. Jap5’s story reflects the harsh realities some youths face, often leading to early and life-changing encounters with the justice system.
