The expenses, he noted, can easily reach half a million to over a million dollars a day.
Rumors of Mayweather being broke have circulated, fueled by insiders and celebrities like 50 Cent, but Irving believes Mayweather still has substantial wealth. He suggests that what some perceive as “broke” might be relative—reflecting the high costs of maintaining such an extravagant lifestyle and priorities like gambling. Floyd’s spending reportedly matches or exceeds the revenue from his investments, often compelling him to keep fighting to maintain cash flow.
Despite the chatter, Irving insists Mayweather is intelligent and strategic, likely using the rumors to generate buzz ahead of his fights, proving that the showmanship behind “Money Mayweather” remains very much intact.
