Irving confirmed reports that El Mencho was located because one of his many female companions visited his compound, and surveillance on her movements allowed authorities to pinpoint his exact location. Drawing parallels to the hunt for Osama bin Laden, Irving highlighted how trusted couriers and close associates often lead to high-profile captures.
