Former US Army Ranger and author Nicholas Irving revealed details about the alleged use of sonic weapons during an attempted raid to kidnap Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro. Speaking in an interview, Irving confirmed reports that the US employed “direct energy weapons” in the operation, describing them as devices capable of directing intense sound waves or heat at targets. These weapons reportedly caused victims to “bleed from their ears,” disorienting them much like a physical blow would.
Irving compared these sonic weapons to those believed to have been used in incidents such as the “Havana Syndrome” syndrome attacks, noting their potential as crowd control tools rather than combat deployables. Although the military has experimented with such non-lethal technologies for crowd management, Irving stressed that this was the first time he had heard of their use in a combat or covert raid scenario. The revelation sheds new light on the technological tactics reportedly employed in the controversial Venezuela operation.
