**Nicholas Irving Reacts to Rob Reiner & Wife Murder: “I'm Not Surprised”**
In a recent interview, former Army Ranger Nicholas Irving shared his unfiltered reaction to the shocking news of beloved actor and director Rob Reiner and his wife being killed by their son. Describing the tragic incident as deeply disturbing, Irving said he wasn’t surprised due to the son’s long history of mental health struggles, including schizophrenia and prescription drug use.
“This is a sick world we live in,” Irving remarked, emphasizing the severity of the son’s psychological issues and addiction to prescribed medication. He acknowledged the son’s actions—stabbing and throat-slitting—as incomprehensible and beyond his personal understanding.
Irving also reflected on the implications of such cases, suggesting that the son severed his “lifeline” by taking his parents’ lives, and predicted that the death penalty was unlikely given the mental health evidence.
Closing the conversation, Irving revealed he would never allow his own son to join the military, hoping to protect him from the hardships he endured.
