Part 12: Gina Conway on Getting 15 Years After Taking Plea Deal in Max B Murder Case
Part 1: Max B's Co-Defendant Gina Conway on Leaving Her Husband for Max B

--------

Gina Conway, who cooperated in the high-profile case against rapper Max B, revealed in a recent interview the challenges she faced while incarcerated. Conway disclosed that inmates, particularly females, approached her due to her cooperation, creating tension within the prison. The situation escalated when she received multiple death threats from outside sources, resulting in her being placed on involuntary protective custody for about a year to ensure her safety.

Despite her cooperation, Conway’s 15-year sentence was upheld after her 2013 appeal was rejected. She argued her confession was coerced and her sentence excessive, but the appellate court ruled that her plea deal had already reduced her potential exposure. Conway expressed feeling “defeated,” emphasizing that she was under the influence during her confession and lacked adequate legal representation. She believes a high-priced lawyer might have improved her case outcome, calling the process unfair due to alleged rights violations.
