Watson explained how the debtor repeatedly denied payment, prompting a severe confrontation. Despite the victim surviving, he later went to the police, leading to Watson’s arrest six months afterward by U.S. marshals. Charged with serious offenses including first-degree robbery, battery causing great bodily injury, home invasion, and use of a firearm during the crime, Watson faced multiple enhancements due to accomplices and the nature of the attack. Watson insists he never cooperated with authorities, highlighting inconsistencies in the victim’s multiple versions of the story.
