Berrellez clarified that individuals legally present on work visas should not be deported, but many detained may have overstayed their visas. He emphasized that ICE operates under strict legal guidelines and can be sued if it oversteps its authority. Regarding deportation statistics, he stated that more people were deported under the Obama administration than during Trump’s recent term, pushing back against claims of unprecedented removals. Berrellez also criticized those exploiting welfare systems and highlighted broader concerns about corruption affecting resources meant for taxpayers. He concluded that immigration enforcement must balance law with respect to due process.
