Former military sniper Nicholas Irving opened up about the powerful forgiveness shown by Erica Kirk, wife of the late Charlie Kirk. Speaking at Charlie’s memorial at Arizona’s State Farm Stadium, Erica publicly forgave the shooter who took her husband’s life, citing her Christian faith and Jesus’ example of forgiveness. Irving admitted that such immediate forgiveness would be nearly impossible for him. While acknowledging forgiveness as a powerful and healing act, he said, “I’m not there yet” and that it would likely take him much longer—if ever—to forgive someone who harmed a loved one.
