Errol denied the accusations, explaining the complex family dynamics involving his third marriage to Heide-Marie, who had three young children from a previous relationship. He detailed that after the allegations, a South African family court investigated, with psychologists involved to safeguard the children’s welfare. The court ultimately dismissed the abuse claims and placed the stepdaughter in Errol’s custody. Furthermore, the court found evidence that the child was being coached by her mother’s side of the family to lie, enforcing strict conditions to prevent any parent from being alone with Alexandra without a social worker present.
