Yung Miami is standing by Sean “Diddy” Combs as he awaits sentencing on two federal counts of transporting women across state lines for the purpose of prostitution. According to court documents filed on Monday (Sept. 22) and obtained by VIBE, the City Girls rapper, born Caresha Brownlee, was among several people who submitted character letters in hopes of swaying Judge Arun Subramanian’s decision.
In her letter, the 31-year-old rapper expressed that she could only speak on her personal relationship with Combs, distancing herself from any allegations predating their connection. “I want to be clear that I cannot speak on or defend anything that may have happened before I met Sean Combs. I do not condone any wrongdoing,” she wrote. “I can only speak from my personal experience and the man I’ve come to know over the past four years.”
Yung Miami described Combs as a positive influence, recalling moments that shaped her life, such as attending the Met Gala for the first time and participating in community outreach during Thanksgiving. “In my personal experience, Sean is not a danger or a threat to the community,” she added. “He is a man of God, someone who uplifts, supports, and inspires those around him to be better mentally, physically, and spiritually. But more than anything, he’s a father, and his kids are the ones who look up to him the most. They need him. His presence, love, and guidance matter deeply in their lives.”
Combs was convicted in July on the federal transportation charges but was acquitted of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking charges following a highly publicized trial. Alongside Yung Miami, dozens of others submitted letters on his behalf, including his mother, Janice Combs, music producer Dallas Austin, and all of Combs’ children.
The Bad Boy mogul faces up to 10 years for each count, though his legal team is pushing for a sentence “no greater than 14 months,” citing the year he has already spent behind bars. His sentencing is scheduled for October 3, 2025.
