Cardi B is opening up about her messy split from Offset, her fears about dating again, and the new chapter of her life with Buffalo Bills star Stefon Diggs. In a recent interview with The Breakfast Club, Cardi revealed that despite the public perception of a peaceful co-parenting relationship with Offset, the reality is far more tense. “No, no, it’s not peaceful at all,” she said when asked about where things stand. “It is not peaceful. I don’t even want to talk about it because it’s like a court thing.” While Offset recently released a song titled “Move On,” Cardi admitted she simply laughed when she heard it, adding, “I let the world think what they want to think. People see it. People see what’s up.”
The “Bongos” rapper got candid about the emotional toll of her divorce, admitting that while she values independence, being completely single left her feeling deeply lonely at times. She said dating after her split was intimidating, especially in her 30s and in the public eye. Cardi eventually gave Stefon Diggs a chance, though she was hesitant at first. “I was talking to somebody for a little bit, but I was just scared. Dating is scary,” she confessed. “But I gave it a chance, and now I’m here.” Cardi also confirmed that some of the tracks on her upcoming album are inspired by her relationship with Diggs, saying she began to experience feelings she hadn’t felt in a long time.
The relationship is now front and center, especially after Cardi revealed she is pregnant with Diggs’ child. She admitted she was initially nervous about the public reaction, especially since fans have followed her love life closely for the past eight years. “Certain times I was scared and then certain times I wasn’t,” she explained. “If I want to have a baby and I want to have a career, I’m going to get it. I’m going to get everything that I want.” Cardi said she kept the pregnancy private until she was ready, explaining that she didn’t even tell her father until three days before the announcement. “Let me do things on my time,” she emphasized.
Despite the challenges, Cardi says she is genuinely happy and excited about this new chapter. She acknowledged that many people have strong opinions about her choices, but ultimately, she is focused on her own growth and joy. Reflecting on the past and looking ahead, Cardi even said she would consider getting married again — but this time, she would move at a slower pace. “I think marriage is worth it,” she said. “I would get married again, but not as quick as I got married the last time.” With her new album, a growing family, and a fresh start in love, Cardi is proving that she’s ready to embrace the future on her own terms.
