Dame Dash’s recent announcement that he is the new chairman of REVOLT TV has been publicly shut down by the network’s leadership. Following his explosive Breakfast Club interview on September 16, where Dash declared he had taken on a temporary chairman role with plans to eventually acquire the company, REVOLT CEO Detavio Samuels sent an email to staff clarifying that no such agreement exists. Samuels acknowledged there had been conversations with Dash about potential collaborations, such as licensing his shows and films for the network, but made it clear that “there is no signed deal.”
“He is not the chairman of our company,” Samuels wrote. “There is no acquisition path on the table.” The statement directly contradicts Dash’s claims, which included plans to debut content from his AmericaNu Network on REVOLT and negotiate an acquisition after 30 days in the role. Dash even doubled down on his story in an exclusive interview with VIBE Magazine, providing what he alleged was a supportive quote from Samuels about their partnership. However, Samuels later stated that the quote was “completely fabricated.”
“The quote from me in VIBE is completely fabricated,” Samuels said. “I never said any of that.” The Breakfast Club team also received confirmation from REVOLT’s lead publicist during their show that Dash’s claim was false. The situation quickly gained attention online, with fans and celebrities weighing in on the drama.
Dame later shared texts on Instagram of conversations that he had with Samuels, writing in the captions, "I hate to bring out receipts but @detavio give me a call, I never would’ve took the deal if there wasn’t a pathway to ownership."
