Coi Leray is shifting her focus toward peace, privacy, and her newborn daughter. During a recent appearance on The Justin LaBoy Show, the rapper opened up about the viral moment earlier this year when she accused Trippie Redd of cheating while she was pregnant, admitting she now regrets handling the situation publicly.
“I honestly wish I didn’t go public with it,” Coi said, explaining that airing their issues online “created so much more problems… especially with the father of my child.” She credited her close circle, or her “village,” with helping her navigate the emotional fallout. The drama is also reflected in her latest project, What Happened to Forever?, released just before Valentine’s Day. On the track “Keep It,” she raps about the pain of betrayal: “All the times I caught you cheatin’, I should’ve killed you, but now you gon’ have to see this, supposed to be my peace, but broke me right into pieces.”
While the romantic relationship is over, Coi emphasized that she and Trippie are now focused solely on co-parenting their infant daughter. “We’re co-parents,” she said, clarifying that all their communication revolves around their child, who currently lives primarily with Coi. Though she admitted the process is “a work in progress,” she stressed that she wants her daughter to have “the best relationship” possible with her father.
Coi also shared personal updates, confirming she’s “100% single” but casually seeing someone she genuinely likes — someone outside the entertainment industry. “I don’t date for money,” she said, explaining that she values a “rich mindset” and emotional stability over fame or financial status. Reflecting on her artistic growth, Coi revealed that motherhood has sharpened her creativity and given her a new sense of confidence.
Coi and Trippie first dated in 2019 before rekindling their relationship in 2024. They publicly confirmed they were back together in the fall and announced her pregnancy on New Year’s Day 2025. Just weeks later, Coi’s public allegations of infidelity sparked headlines, with Trippie appearing to respond dismissively on social media, posting, “To every b**** I ever did wrong, I’ll do it again.”
