The White House is strongly denying claims that President Donald Trump wrote and signed a birthday card allegedly sent to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. The card, which features a drawing resembling a woman’s body and a signature said to be Trump’s, was released by the House Oversight Committee as part of the first batch of documents obtained from Epstein’s estate. Democrats say the release proves the card exists, while the White House maintains it is fabricated.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt issued a statement reiterating Trump’s denial, saying, “The latest piece published by The Wall Street Journal proves the entire birthday card story is false. It’s very clear the President did not draw the picture, and he did not sign it.” Trump allies have also pointed to the handwriting on the card, claiming it does not match his penmanship. Trump’s legal team previously threatened to sue The Wall Street Journal for reporting on the card earlier this year.

The document’s release sparked political backlash, with Representative Robert Garcia (D-CA) calling out Vice President JD Vance, who had previously dismissed reports of the card’s existence. Garcia urged Vance to apologize, arguing that the release directly from Epstein’s estate proves it was not fabricated by Democrats or the media. Meanwhile, some lawmakers, including Representative Thomas Massie (R-KY), are pushing for a full release of Epstein-related documents, expressing frustration over what they see as a slow, selective process.

The House Oversight Committee continues to review a wide range of materials from Epstein’s estate, including legal agreements and financial records. While Democrats argue the birthday card raises questions about Trump’s ties to Epstein, the White House insists it is politically motivated and completely false. Further document releases are expected in the coming weeks.
