Hollywood authorities are investigating after human remains were discovered inside a Tesla registered to popular singer D4vd. Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) officers responded Monday to a report of a foul odor emanating from the vehicle, which had been parked at a tow yard for several days.
According to ABC 7, the remains were found inside a bag in the trunk of the Tesla. Police have not released the identity of the deceased, and the case is being treated as a death investigation. TMZ confirmed that the vehicle is registered in Hempstead, Texas, to David Anthony Burke, the legal name of 20-year-old artist D4vd.
D4vd, known for viral hits including “Here With Me” and “Romantic Homicide,” has amassed millions of streams and social media followers, quickly establishing himself as a rising star in the music industry. He is scheduled to perform Tuesday in Minneapolis as part of his ongoing world tour, which began last month.
Representatives for D4vd have not commented publicly on the investigation. The singer was active on social media Monday, suggesting the discovery is unrelated to him personally.
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the discovery and have not provided additional details at this time.
