Another leaked phone call allegedly featuring Young Thug has surfaced online, sending shockwaves through the hip-hop community. The Atlanta rapper, who was incarcerated during the now-closed YSL RICO case, can be heard candidly sharing his thoughts on some of the industry’s biggest names, including J. Cole and Atlanta legend Andre 3000.
In the audio, Thug reacts to J. Cole’s recent revelation that NBA YoungBoy stood him up in the studio when they were supposed to record a song together. Thug came to YoungBoy’s defense, praising his dominance in the music industry—especially on YouTube. “YoungBoy might be the biggest artist in the world on YouTube. Why wouldn’t J. Cole do a song with him? You ain’t never in your life sold more records than this boy,” Thug said. He went on to criticize artists who avoid collaborating simply because they don’t like someone’s style of music, comparing rap to a sport where everyone should “play everybody,” regardless of personal preferences.
Thug then shifted his focus to André 3000, voicing frustration with the Outkast icon for not using his influence to help other artists. “You became one of the biggest artists in the world. But you ain’t help nobody. You ain’t put nobody on,” Thug stated. “Can’t no [expletive] say they got a career off of you.”
These comments are especially striking given that André has publicly praised Young Thug in the past. In a 2022 interview, André called Thug “exciting,” highlighting his bold and unconventional artistry. “To do those things he does, you have to have big f***in’ balls,”* Andre said at the time.
With the YSL RICO case officially closed as of June 2025, this leaked call provides rare insight into Thug’s mindset during one of the most challenging periods of his life and career. His blunt critique of both J. Cole and Andre 3000 is sure to stir conversation in the rap world, raising questions about collaboration, support, and legacy in hip-hop.
