Ant Glizzy opened up about his early friendship with fellow rapper Shy Glizzy. The two met as teenagers through mutual friends in their neighborhood, despite initial tensions. Ant recalls how he once acted as Shy Glizzy’s protector, preventing a hostile neighborhood confrontation by escorting him safely to the bus stop. This act of loyalty sparked their bond, leading them to hang out and support each other over the years. Ant also shared insights into their origins in the music scene, revealing he was essentially the “fall guy” and security for Shy Glizzy during early performances. While Shy Glizzy originally went by “Young Gorgeous,” the “Glizzy” name came from their neighborhood’s slang, which they adopted together. Ant credits Shy Glizzy for inspiring him and providing a blueprint for success, motivating him to rise from the streets to pursue his own path in music and life.
