Cardi B is letting fans in on her romance with Patriots star Stefon Diggs, opening up in a new interview with Billboard about the challenges of dating in the public eye — and how her relationship has inspired her personally.
When asked about what it’s like to date again under the intense spotlight, Cardi admitted it hasn’t been easy. “It was very tough, but you know what, it is what it is,” she said. “It’s tough hiding. It’s definitely tough dating in your 30s, too. But I’m happy. I like him. I love him.” The rapper explained that she’s never really been someone who casually dates, sharing that she’s been in long-term relationships since she was 21.
While she and Diggs work in completely different worlds, Cardi said his work ethic has had a major impact on her. She revealed that watching the NFL star’s strict routine has motivated her to stay more organized and avoid complaining, especially about her own hectic schedule. “Personally, it’s like I would never complain about my job, I would never complain about lack of sleep,” she said. “He has to do two different things — study his playbook and be physically ready. You literally have to be like in the military. You really work hard.”
Cardi admitted she’s not naturally someone who likes to plan out her days, saying she usually takes things one step at a time to avoid feeling overwhelmed. However, seeing how disciplined Diggs is has been inspiring for her. “It’s very inspirational to see how hard somebody works,” she shared. “It’s just like, wow. You should be proud of yourself.”
The couple has been spotted spending time together over the past few months, including hitting the gym — something Cardi joked she normally doesn’t do. While both are busy with their careers, it’s clear Diggs’ dedication on and off the field has made a meaningful impression on Cardi as their relationship continues to grow.
