Snoop Dogg has never been one to hold back his opinions, but his latest comments about Pixar’s Lightyear movie landed him in hot water. During an appearance on Sarah Fontenot’s It’s Giving podcast, the 53-year-old rap icon admitted he felt “scared to go to the movies” after being thrown off by the film’s depiction of a same-sex couple.

Snoop recalled taking his grandson to see the animated movie, which features Buzz Lightyear’s close friend Alisha Hawthorne marrying another woman and starting a family. The moment sparked questions from his grandson, who asked, “Papa Snoop? How can she have a baby with a woman? She’s a woman!” Snoop admitted the question left him stunned, saying, “I didn’t come in for this s—. I just came to watch the goddamn movie… It f—– me up.”

The reaction online was swift. Critics blasted him for blaming the film, but Snoop didn’t stay silent for long. Taking to Instagram, he offered an apology, writing, “My bad. I was just caught off guard and had no answer for my grandsons… Teach me how to learn. I’m not perfect.” He added that friends from the LGBTQ community had reached out with support, making it clear his comments weren’t rooted in hate.
