More leaked audio from Young Thug’s jail phone calls is stirring the rap world, this time with a bombshell claim about Gunna’s chart-topping success. In a newly surfaced five-minute recording, Thug alleged that he personally spent $50,000 on fake streams to push Gunna’s 2022 album DS4EVER to number one over The Weeknd’s Dawn FM.

According to Thug, the move was less about business and more about brotherhood. He explained that when Gunna was seeking a $20 million label deal, he felt compelled to back him—even if Gunna’s numbers didn’t justify such a demand.

“You’re not doing numbers like that,” Thug reportedly said in the leaked call. “The number one album you just had right now, I paid for you to have the number one album. You didn’t honestly earn a number one over The Weeknd.”

The leaked conversation also touched on another sore point: Gunna allegedly charging young rappers, some as young as 16, up to $2,500 for opportunities despite already making millions under Thug’s guidance. Thug framed the practice as exploitative, saying, “Why would you ever in your life take a dollar from my young boys?” His frustration wasn’t just financial—it was personal, painting a picture of loyalty fractured by greed.

For Thug, the issue seems rooted in respect and values rather than money. He claimed he never took a cut from Gunna’s millions, instead trying to protect him from the harsher realities of the industry—even going as far as manufacturing chart success. But the secrecy and side hustles, Thug suggested, crossed a line.

Neither Gunna nor The Weeknd has addressed the allegations, and the authenticity of the leaked audio has yet to be confirmed.
