Florida rapper Wam SpinThaBin, born Brandon Wamley, was fatally shot on Thursday, August 28, 2025, in Hallandale Beach. Police confirmed to Local 10 that officers responded to the 500 block of Northwest Sixth Avenue after a ShotSpotter alert detected gunfire. When authorities arrived, they found the 25-year-old rapper suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he later died.

Investigators believe Wamley knew the shooter, citing a confrontation that escalated into violence. While detectives have not named any suspects, they continue to search for the gunman and are urging anyone with information to come forward.

Wam SpinThaBin rose to prominence in the early 2020s after signing with Kodak Black’s Sniper Gang label. His early work included tracks such as "Spin a Benz Pt. 1," "Righteous Reapers," and "Get Em." He released his debut album Life Before Fame in 2021, followed by Before I Self Destruct a year later. In 2022, his collaboration “444” with SCY Jimm, Reace Sosa, and Mari Montana was highlighted by Pitchfork as a must-hear rap song, with the outlet praising his delivery as “low-key” yet distinct from his mentor Kodak Black.

Though he parted ways with Sniper Gang in 2023, Wam maintained a friendly relationship with Kodak, continuing to collaborate on music. He frequently credited both Kodak and his cousin WizDaWizard—who died in 2021—as major influences on his career. Speaking on the loss of Wiz in a 2023 interview, Wam said, “Losing Wiz hurt me a lot. I had lost myself at first, I ain’t even rap no more.” He also revealed during the same interview that he got sober following a drug overdose.

Some of his most notable tracks include "Praying For Killing," "No Attempts," and "Yurda Twins." His final project, Tear Drops & Closed Caskets, was released in 2023.

Local residents described the shooting as unsettling. One witness told Local 10, “It is scary because you see police in the middle of the night. You’re wondering what’s going on.” Another said they hid in their bathroom after hearing multiple shots ring out.

The Hallandale Beach Police Department continues to investigate as tributes pour in for the young artist whose career was cut short by violence.
